With climate change threatening the very survival of our planet, it’s more important than ever for the youth to take the lead in transitioning to clean and renewable energy resources.

Education is impactful only when it transcends beyond the textbooks and classrooms, and when our students are educated on how to bring real change in the world.

Therefore, for the 10th webinar of our Education for Life webinar series, we are inviting Prof. Chetan S. Solanki, the “Solar Man of India”, to speak to our audience about his mission of making India self-sufficient in renewable energy on March 21, 2023 at 5:00 PM IST.

The excessive use of fossil energy has caused a great deal of harm to our planet. The resulting imbalances and degradation of nature have led to climate change and other devastating consequences. The solution lies in using the right kind of energy – clean and sustainable energy from sources like the Sun. Solar energy is at the centre of our existence, and we must base our lives on this clean and abundant resource to ensure the survival of human life on our planet.

Prof. Solanki’s fundamental principles of “limiting consumption” and “localizing production” are crucial to this effort. These two principles are the laws of human existence and sustainable living on this planet.

The first principle of “limiting consumption” emphasizes the need to reduce our energy consumption to a minimum. This involves making conscious choices about the products we use, the way we travel and the food we eat. By reducing our energy consumption, we can reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to a healthier planet.

The second principle of “localizing production” focuses on the need to produce energy locally, using renewable sources. This can be achieved through the use of solar panels, wind turbines and other forms of clean energy. By producing energy locally, we can reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and contribute to a more sustainable future.
